Charles D'Alessandro
When Fillmore Real Estate broke the mold by being the first Broker in Brooklyn to offer information via a texting service, we knew that it was going to help our sellers out immensely.
What we didn’t know, however, was how effective it was going to be in recruiting agents.
Charles D’Alessandro, a Licensed Real Estate Broker and manager of our Avenue J office, recently told us how he has been using our texting service to help recruit agents for his office.
“It’s amazing,” says the Brooklyn native. “When I’m talking to people about the many reasons to join Fillmore, all I have to do is ask them to text one word to our short code number. Before you know it, their phones are going off with info on properties, and my phone is going off with their phone numbers.”
Pretty amazing, indeed. Our texting solution is but one of many tools in the Fillmore arsenal. Its well rounded usability has proven to be invaluable in all aspects of our business. It helps sellers market their property, it helps agents get info on properties while in the field, and- clearly- it helps make Fillmore Real Estate that much more attractive to veteran and new agents alike.

Fillmore Real Estate hosts twilight open houses in the evening
Let’s face it: Brooklyn in the middle of July gets HOT. Currently, NYC is experiencing a “mild” heatwave of 95+ degree days. With all the joy that such a summer brings, it’s no wonder that Fillmore has noticed a decline in open house attendees on the weekend.
“By the time your weekend in the summer comes, people want to go to the beach or watch a movie in the cold AC,” says John Reinhardt, President and CEO of Fillmore Real Estate. “One of our managers, Linda Kramer, came up with this idea and it looks like it’s going to be very promising.”

As everyone knows, the Virtual RE Bar Camp (VREBC) event was a smash hit not only within the Fillmore family, but with brokers and agents all across the nation. A record 127 participants came to our HQ location to learn, share ideas, and network.
By popular demand, another Virtual event is being held on January 04, 2010. While the first VREBC was extremely well organized and fulfilling, the second one promises to be an even better experience, as the organizers now have the luxury of hindsight to help guide them in preparing for January’s session.
Fillmore Real Estate is both proud and anxious to be hosting another Virtual RE BarCamp. As before there will be pizza and refreshments served.
Kick off the New Year right by diving into what promises to, once again, be an informative and inspiring day!

Recently, NY1 did a segment on how important it is for sellers to be cognizant of how qualified a buyer may be when purchasing a home. For example, just because a buyer offers more, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you should take their offer. There are several important factors to consider, outside of the offer price, to determine the quality of a buyer’s bid. A snippet of the article can be found below. Go to this NY1 page to see the entire article, along with the aired video segment:
“There are issues for a seller if you make the mistake of choosing the wrong buyer,” says President of CEO John Reinhardt of Fillmore Real Estate. “They are financial because you have the house off the market for a period of time, and we happen to be in declining market where they still predict the market is going down. So be careful of that, plus your time which is valuable, and emotionally it can be straining on your life.”

“You Don’t Know Jack” is a movie about Dr. Jack Kavorkian. Starring in this film are A-list celebs like Al Pacino, Susan Sarandon, and John Goodman. Brenda Vaccaro and John Reinhardt also stars.
There has been much excitement at Fillmore Real Estate’s HQ, where much of the film is being shot.
